NEWS AND UPDATES
"Whats Going On?" And "Whats Coming Next?"
WHAT A VOYAGE!
Thanks so much to Voyage LA Magazine for featuring me in their latest edition! I feel so vulnerable (my friends: "but you said that stuff! me: I know, leave me aloooone!) sharing my story and much prefer telling you about me through the lens of my work but I want to share myself with you. I am a whole person and I am proud of my story!
A LITTLE COMMERCIAL REP IN MY STEP!
So so excited to start this new partnership with Across the Boards commercial department!
Working with Avail Car sharing for this comercial was so fun and the end results were so satisfying- that I think the whole team is gonna stay friends?? Love when that happens.
A FAMILIAR FACE
I don't know how long this will last but you might see a familiar face sprinkled around the Amazon app and website reminding you of Prime Day! (P.s-the familiar face is me!!!)
Another amazing experience in the intersections of Tv and Theatre! I had the opportunity to be a part of the world of Panic on Amazon Prime for a day through Metaforyou and Event_Eleven who invited me to party like the Class of 2021 for the premier! It was so fun to set the vibezz and it was truly a success!
WHO RUN THE WORLD???
So honored and excited that Run the World has finally released! Check out Episode 2 to see a familiar face <3
ANOTHER ZOOM READING!
This week I participated in a beautiful reading of "American Fast" by Kareem Fahmy with Capital Rep, directed by Reg Douglas. I was so grateful and honored to play the lead role of Khady. It was a beautiful first-generation American story about an Egyptian family navigating Religion together.
ALOO AT FOCUS FILM FESTIVAL!
What an amazing team to work with. Can't wait to see where this project goes!
Next up is a Zoom reading with the GOODMAN Theatre in Chicago for a new work entitled Layalina by Martin Zebari and directed by Azar Kazemi.
PROGRESS ON THE BASEMENT!
This flier is so cool I just had to share. I love working with BADASS women and I'm so grateful so much of my work has me surrounded by strong women of color. This project is no exception!
SKRRRRRRRT! CORONA TIME!
So SO much has happened in such a short time. Covid-19 has come and caused so much grief and stress to us all, me included, but I know that I am meant to stay focused on the positive. And working on Run The World was DEFINITELY a positive. My first reoccurring role in a tv show and with people I have looked up to for so many years. Looks like there is a little light in the dark.
TWO NEW SHORT HORROR FILMS IN THE WORKS!
"The Imaginary Friend" and "The Basement" are now both in post production! I love working on horror films because even though the tone of the piece is so dark, set is always such a blast!
ENTERING PILOT SEASON WITH NEW POETRY FEATURES, NEW BOOKINGS, AND AUDITIONS!
Life in LA is busy!!! Doing more poetry features out here (exclusive videos in media section!) and expanding my writing styles. So inspiring to be here! Did another Voice Over for DC comics as Harley Quinn and hopefully it will play in theaters before Birds of Prey! So excitinggg!!! I've booked an Industrial with an awesome work training website called Kantola who were all so sweet to me! Can't believe I found work just a few months into my new home. I'm taking classes and always auditioning. Send me your prayers and positive energies for pilot season! <3

VO FOR DC CCOMICS AS HARLEY QUINN!

VOICE-OVER FOR AMPLIFY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING!
This project was so exciting to work on because I got to voice a variety of Characters between the ages of 9 and 80!! So cool. The director was so kind and the work really focused on telling an authentic story about Middle Eastern characters. Even cooler. Videos coming soon!
STARRED AS SAMA KULKARNI IN NEW SHORT FILM- "ALOO"
Recent NYU grad director Priya Khanolkar directed a short film called "Aloo" inspired by her own experiences as a first-generation American. I got the honor of playing a 15 year old girl named Sama, struggling with the balance of cultures inherent in our experiences. So cool to play a character so close to my teen self.
SHOT A COMMERCIAL FOR SAGE SCHOLARS!
This week I shot a new Commercial for Sage Scholars Scholarship Program! They create amazing oppurtunities for families to afford to send students to college. Isn't that amazing?
NEW MEDIA COMING SOON!
Good news! Footage from some of the Live performances I have made in the last few months is slowly coming in! Head over to the videos on my Media tab!
Since signing with Take 3 Talent, I've gotten to audition for and work with countless amazing people. We hear so many horror stories in this business and it is truly inspiring to work alongside, and even just witness, the work of talented, motivated, inspiring people. We'll see what this upcoming year has in store! I'm feeling some major changes brewing up ahead.
BRAINPEOPLE BY JOSE RIVERA AT SHOEBOX THEATRE CLOSES!
What a ride! Cast 2 weeks before opening, this show challenged me in ways I could never have expected- an emotional whirlwind, a surrealist dream, a 25 minute monologue, tears, tears, and more tears! I couldn't have gotten any luckier. The team was a gift to work with. Directed by Ryan Rebel, a gentle soul with a wise vision, and starring Taylor Crawley and Jessy Gruver- two of the fiercest makers I have ever encountered, Brainpeople was a dinner party worth celebrating.
"A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ARTIST OF COLOR"
Although it all began as a poem describing my own hurdles as an Artist of Color in Philadelphia, this project has since grown into something much larger than I could have imagined. Viewed mostly on Instagram and Facebook, A Day in the Life of an Artist of Color is a series of Artist Spotlights on the experiences and creations of Artists of Color in Philadelphia. Beginning with our first Artist Mixer, our first online fundraiser, to now- in the midst of filming and scheduling band meetings for the underscore- this project has been a love song to Philly, to my community, and to the art that our struggles birth.
